The monstrous murder of the imperial Romanov family — their execution on the night of July 16-17, 1918 in the basement of Ipatiev’s house — has grown (and continues to grow) with legends and speculation. No one knows the details of the nightmare tragedy. And of course, all the details are not known about the life of the emperor, his wife and heirs, their history has many dark pages.
After that nightmare, one of the few albums with the rarest pictures of the imperial family was taken out of Russia. Now this unique and invaluable item is stored in the library of Yale University.
